Manufacturer: John Rettig

Description: John Rettig (American, Ohio, the Netherlands, 1855 to 1932) watercolor on heavy paper entitled The Orange Girl of Maltrata (Mexico) showing orange sellers at an outdoor train station with a volcano in the background. Rettig studied at the McMicken School of Design in Cincinnati and at the Cincinnati Art Museum with Frank Duveneck and Edward Potthast. Signed lower right and titled with a small plaque. Sight size is 8 1/8 by 11 1/8 inches. Overall size with original finished corner frame is 18 1/4 by 15 1/4 inches. Good overall condition with minor nicks to frame and the watercolor itself has slipped slightly in the frame.
