Lot No. 0599

Manufacturer: Handel

Description: Early Handel lamp having an 18 inch scenic shade revealing a continuous view of a country meadow with dense summer foliaged trees silhouetted by an enlightened sky at twilight. An unusual Jack Frost pattern accentuates the chipped ice exterior and provides an interesting artistic effect onto the colorful sky, especially when the lamp is lighted. The trees and shrubs are enameled on the exterior with the meadow and distant hills painted on the interior. Boldly signed Handel next to the design number 5360 and having the conjoined artist monogram DR nearby. The stout 28 1/2 inch bronze base has vertical channels that resembles tree bark, befitting for this scenic shade. The original Hubbell light socket trio, are accessorized with acorn tipped pull chains. Newer cord. Wonderful patina on the base. The shade is in excellent original condition. Handsome Arts and Crafts lamp.

Estimate: $4,000.00 - $6,000.00
