Lot No. 0587

Manufacturer: Gallé

Description: Monumental Gallé cameo vase in layers of four colors, exhibiting a profusion of lilac flowers, the harbinger of spring, caught at the peak of bloom. The hearty coral pink blossoms are the crowning glory of woody stems lush with garnet red foliage arranged about the ample circumference. The bouquets are silhouetted against a bright sunny yellow backdrop that warms and compliments the composition. The flaring rim shades into the color of frost, possibly indicating ole man winter is still lurking about. An original bronze base is bolted to the vessel and most unusual, the fastening nut appears to be hand forged and probably the bolt as well. Height is 19 inches, shoulder width is 10 inches across. The signature of Gallé appears low on the body in cameo. Wonderful presentation on this aristocratic vessel. Excellent original condition. You can almost detect the aromatic fragrance from the flowers!

Estimate: $6,000.00 - $8,000.00
