Stevens & Williams
Admirable Silveria vase conceived by the glass house of Stevens and Williams in merry ole England. The “puckered” body is covered with flashy colors of rosy pink, sweet violet and royal blue spread over a layer of silver foil then encased within a thin layer of clear glass for protection. Emerald green glass strands were drizzled over the textured surface, further enhancing this piece, the rim gathered to form a nice ruffled edge. Height is 13 inches. Beneath the base the cursive “S & W” monogram was engraved within the polished pontil. Two glass strands have breeches measuring a 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch in length. This is a fascinating and unique vessel, the inspiration of John Northwood II, chief designer for Stevens & Williams. Museum quality! Rarest of Stevens and Williams glass art. A must for the advanced aficionado.
