The talented ceramist formed the vessel and then incised designs which are very reminiscent of art from several ancient cultures. The designs, surrounding both the exterior and covering the interior, are colored in orange against a dark gray ground. Signed by Mr. Nairn on the bottom. Size is 5 1/4 inches by 18 inches. The bowl is graced with an unusual, tripod foot. Striking composition, great colors and large size combine to demonstrate that clay art is alive and well in Cincinnati.
